What is Mango Seed Therapy?
Growing up, mangoes were my favorite fruit and a familiar source of comfort. Even now, I eat them when I’m feeling homesick or stressed to lighten my mood. Because of that, they’ve always represented a sense of togetherness, safety, and catharsis for me. When it came time to start my own practice, naming it after this beloved fruit was a no-brainer.
Before Mango Seed Therapy, I worked under the supervision and training of sex and relational therapists. After gaining 6 years of clinical experience, I wanted to practice therapy on my own terms, focusing more on my relationship to the clients and their unique needs. I want to bring to my clients what mangoes bring to me: A chance to revisit connections with their inner child to heal parts of their adult self.
Starting therapy can feel scary. It means exposing ourselves to vulnerability, reliving painful parts of the past we’ve tried to bury, and letting go of walls we’ve built to protect ourselves. However, one of our first steps towards healing is learning to share our pain. My goal with Mango Seed Therapy is to create a space that will enable you to feel safe enough to do so.
Mangoes are more than just a delicious and colorful fruit. They have deep roots, thick leaves, and can survive harsh conditions, even if it alters them. In that way, we are like mangoes - learning, growing, and finding community. Let Mango Seed Therapy be the first step to leading the life you want to live.
